Drama as a Universal Art Form

Drama isn’t just about acting on stage...
—it’s a powerful way for people everywhere to express ideas, feelings, and perspectives. This week, we explored how drama exists in many forms and styles across cultures, connecting us through shared human stories.
Each day began with an ice-breaker activity that gave students the freedom to express themselves while encouraging them to slow down their movements. This helped students give greater purpose to the stories they conveyed through their actions and expressions, deepening their understanding of how form shapes meaning in drama.

In English, we analysed rhyming patterns in a variety of poems and focused on adverbial phrases and clauses as part of our language study.
Meanwhile, in Mathematics, the Grade 4s worked on measurement and conversions alongside multiplication and division of decimal numbers. These lessons strengthened their precision and problem-solving skills, supporting their understanding of structured forms—whether in numbers or storytelling.

Have a wonderful day!

STEM WEEK

Building a Sustainable Future for 2050
The Grade Fours embraced the challenge of becoming green architectural designers, creating sustainable buildings for our future city.
Guided by the STEM cycle, Ask–Plan–Create, our Remarkable Rhinos journeyed through four thoughtful phases.
Each phase brought a new question that sparked their imagination, inspired research, and encouraged redesign, just like true innovators!

These young architects combined their unique strengths to craft masterpieces filled with purpose. There’s so much more to their designs than meets the eye—feel free to ask them about their projects and discover the stories behind their AWESOME eco-friendly buildings!

Building Short Screenplays
This week we have been studying the film, 'The Jungle Book', acting as directors and scripting new dialogue. Something our Grade 4s always look forward to is roleplay—a special kind of drama that brings stories and ideas to life. We enjoyed practicing stage direction and swapping between characters as a solo actor.

Finally, STEM Friday arrived and our very special guests invested their time to come and learn about our innovations and designs.
It was a great event, thank you to all our parents for their dedicated support and interest.

Have a wonderful weekend!
