U4 Respect and Experiments

Unlocking the Meaning of RESPECT
We have entered our new unit, the Grade 4s will be undergoing different provocations to allow them to puzzle together what transdisciplinary theme we are in, and try to connect a central idea to it.
We started off by looking at the word, Respect.
Different perspectives are essential for class discussions and collaboration. Our Remarkable Rhinos reflected on what respect means to them and then shared their reflections with one another during circle time.
Our Grade 4's are creating a poster about respect reflecting their insights gained during circle time.

They used their thinking skills and volunteered to take on a role that showcases their best efforts and skills, to effectively collaborate in a group to achieve their end goal of exhibiting a meaningful and impactful poster.

Action Takers
Well done to one of our Remarkable Rhinos for bringing his knowledge and resources from home and transferring all he knows about these kinds of maps to us. We are all the more knowledgeable now!

K2 Assembly
A wonderful assembly hosted by K2 about the meaning of friendship and family.
Well done, K2!

Scientific Experiments
With great anticipation, the day finally arrived for our Remarkable Rhinos to present what they have been inquiring into at home. They put their best efforts forward and really outdid themselves with these science experiments. Take a look!

Wizz of the Week!
The Fun Mathematics Challenge trophy seems to be making its way back into our Grade 4 classroom. We are super proud of our champion this week, WELL DONE!

Have a wonderful weekend!

U3 The Bando Museum Fun

Definitely a Naked Egg

How exciting it has been to watch our eggs transform. After a week in vinegar, the naked egg was ready for inspection. The Grade 4s noted that the shell, made up mostly of calcium carbonate, has completely vanished. Proving their hypothesis to be correct! Its size increased slightly due to osmosis, a process the Grade 4s will happily explain.

Field Trip - The Bando Science Museum
Today we embarked on an exciting field trip to the Bando Science Museum, where we had the opportunity to explore various fascinating exhibits and enhance our understanding of the world around us.

The highlight of the day was undoubtedly the captivating planetarium show, which took us on a journey through the cosmos, showcasing the wonders of the universe.

However, the most thrilling experience of all was the haunted illusions exhibit on the top floor! The Grade 4s were absolutely mesmerised by the mind-bending optical illusions and spooky surprises that awaited them. Laughter and excitement filled the air as they navigated through the eerie displays, making unforgettable memories and sparking their imaginations. It was a fantastic day of learning and fun, indeed!

Have a wonderful weekend!
