Unveiling the Transdisciplinary Theme
During Unit time we finished off our provocations by completing the scientific method for our melting ice experiment. The Grade 4s then used their knowledge and thinking skills to decide which transdisciplinary theme we are inquiring into for this unit.
During Unit time we finished off our provocations by completing the scientific method for our melting ice experiment. The Grade 4s then used their knowledge and thinking skills to decide which transdisciplinary theme we are inquiring into for this unit.
It was a split between two, ' How we Organise Ourselves' and ' How the World Works'.
With that, we took part in an impromptu and informal debate to share our thoughts to reason and justify why we felt strongly about our choices. This was an interesting session because the Grade 4s learned how their fellow classmates draw reasoning from previous experiences, and also how our peers make connections to recent provocations. Most of the class agreed, they are indeed in the unit of 'How the World Works'.
Next, was unscrambling the central idea which was done in one blink of an eye, fantastic progress!
