The Value of... 1 Yen
This week, we embarked on an insightful field trip that opened our eyes to the importance of goods and services, the value of money, and our role as consumers in the marketplace.

We kicked off our day by utilizing local transport services to reach our marketplace destination. While traveling we observed signs of cargo distribution, which helped us understand and visualize the intricate life cycle of a product.

On our first mission, the Remarkable Rhinos set out to compare the pricing, packaging, and labels of a specific item from three distinct stores: an international supermarket, a local grocery store, and a market store.

Before continuing, we stopped for a water break and took some time to write a letter to a friend or loved one living near or far. After writing, we posted our letters using the post box, and now we hope to see our efforts come to life soon.

These Grade 4s put their communication skills to good use and were risk-takers when they took the courage to interview shopkeepers about products that do not get sold in their stores. The shopkeepers shared their insights into recycling clothes and compost heaps. Understanding these perspectives helped us grasp the dynamics of retail and the importance of aligning products with customer needs.

It was time for a well-deserved break, we enjoyed our snacks while taking the time to observe the various vendors around us.

On a tight schedule, because these buses wait for no one, we dashed the next kilometer to make sure we were on time to get back to school!

A successful trip indeed and it would not have been possible if it weren't for these three.
Thank you so much to our parent volunteers for joining us and dedicating their time to the team!
